What Should a Musician Wear on Stage??

Performing in Nashville? Let's just be real - it's going to rain. It rains 119 days out of the year in Nashville (at minimum).

Be prepared for the weather, especially if performing outside (Ascend Amphitheater, CMA Fest 2021, etc.) It's humid, it rains, it's hot. Always. Unless you are performing in November through February, plan for heat.

Fun fact, I got married in October and was SWEATING!!

If you're planning to perform indoors... phew, you're good.

Here's some tips on what to wear on stage, based on a fashion designer's opinion and past musician style.

STAND OUT

Let's take a page out of Katy Perry's (image 2: source Wikipedia) book for a moment. Choose something UNIQUE, shiny and form-fitting if you want to be remembered forever. Check out this couture gown that is different.

FUNCTIONAL FASHION

Next, think Brooke Eden (image 1). Brooke Eden in DARCY rainwear killed it at the 2019 CMA Fest. She was prepared for everything, even rain... covered in couture.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

If you want to keep it safe, think Carrie Underwood (image 3: source Wikipedia). Often performing in Nashville, Carrie Underwood reminds us to stay classy and frilly.
